This monument arrived with a rather chunky carving and the decision was made to remove it. First we cut off the carved rose using a diamond cutting blade.
This has to be carefully done so as not to cut too deep into the stone.
Then we grind out to make the surface flat and even. We pay particular attention to making sure the surface are isn't dished.
Once we have run through the polishing pads and sealed the granite you can see the memorial is back to a highly polished finish.
The sandblasted rose has now been added and finished in gold leaf
